2012 Civic/School Boards Election
OCTOBER 24, 2012
9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
An Election for Mayor, Councillors (Wards 1 - 6, and 8) and In-City Board Members for
the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division No. 119 and Prince Albert Roman Catholic
Separate School Division No. 6 of Saskatchewan, are being held on October 24, 2012,
from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at various polling places in the City.
ELECTION GUIDE
Please watch for the Election Guide which will be delivered to your home the week of October 7th, 2012. This Guide will contain important voter information, such as Qualifications of Voters, List of Candidates, Special Provisions, and the Polling Area Map to determine where you vote. The polling areas and places may have changed, so please review the Guide carefully.
ADVANCE POLL
In addition to Election Day, voters can access the Advance Poll if you are physically disabled; have been appointed as an election official; or anticipate being unable to vote on the day of election.
The Advance Poll will take place at City Hall Foyer, 1084 Central Avenue on the following dates:
Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.;
Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.;
Friday, October 19, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Mail-in Ballot and Mobile Poll options are also available by contacting the Returning Office.
VOTER IDENTIFICATION
Voters must provide valid ID at the polls this election. Government issued photo identification is your best option. Other forms of ID are allowed, but two pieces of ID must be provided, as long as both contain your name and at least one contains your address. Examples of acceptable ID with your name could be your Health, Credit or Debit Card, and ID with your name and address could include your current water, tax, power, cable or phone bill.
Several alternative forms of ID are allowed and voters are encouraged to check out the 2012 Elections website at www.citypa.ca, watch for posters, or contact the Returning Officer.
